The Story Behind The Big Love Club Membership
A personal reflection on pausing, returning, and how the membership now supports — but doesn’t define — Big Love Movement.
When I started the membership in 2020, it wasn’t planned. It was simply what felt needed — for myself, and for the people I was holding space for.
It was a response — to loss, to disconnection, to the collective overwhelm we were all feeling as the world shut down and the ways we stayed connected — emotionally, physically, spiritually — fell away.
At the time, I had just left a 15-year career in the fashion and footwear industry and was consulting on footwear projects while exploring opportunities in the world of wellness. But when the pandemic hit, all my work vanished. The collaborations with schools and universities, the design projects, the creative energy — it all paused.
And I paused too.
It was clear to me that people needed connection, care, and something steady to come back to — and so did I.
My (now) husband bought me a webcam, and we played around with the space we had in our one-bed flat, balancing camera angles and WiFi strength — and just started.
I began where I was, with what I had; a yoga mat, my voice, and a inner urge to show up and support.
I started the membership from my bedroom — a few breathwork and yoga sessions streamed from a laptop on a chair and a few yoga blocks.
But it quickly grew — in depth, in practice, and in community. What we created together over the next five years was something truly special:
Live sessions several times a week (up to five by the time we paused)
A growing library of restorative and somatic practices
A space for emotional awareness and nervous system care
And a loyal, supportive community of once-strangers who became friends
But after five years of holding space for others, I realised I wasn’t holding it for myself.
Why I pressed pause
In early 2025, I pressed pause on the membership.
Not because I didn’t believe in it — but because I needed to reimagine how I wanted to teach, hold space, and live in a way that felt aligned.
I had outgrown the idea that I had to fit inside the box of “yoga teacher.”
Big Love has always been more than that. And so have I.
I needed time to breathe. To reflect. To return to the core of why I started this in the first place—and to reshape the membership in a way that felt nourishing and sustainable for both me and the community.
What emerged is something softer, simpler, and more aligned.
Welcome to the Big Love Club (the new version)
The Big Love Club is a gentle monthly membership for people navigating stress, transitions, burnout, or simply seeking support for their emotional wellbeing.
It’s for real people with real lives—not just those already immersed in wellness spaces.
It’s a space to feel resourced, seen, and held. A place to land, even if only for a few minutes each month, and reconnect with your breath, your body, and your inner steadiness.
While The Big Love Club is our membership space, it’s just one part of the broader Big Love Movement — which also includes free tools, events, and future community-led offerings.
What’s included each month
A curated bundle of calming, grounding resources
Up to 3 live sessions with me, including restorative practices, somatic movement, yoga, breathwork, and facial yoga with lymphatic massage
Optional replays if you can’t make it live
Gentle journaling prompts and reflections
As we grow: bi-monthly workshops from trusted contributing practitioners
A quiet community space that’s warm, non-performative, and inclusive
Whether you join for one month or stay longer, this is your space to come home to yourself—without pressure.
Who it’s for
The Big Love Club is especially for:
Adults seeking real, supportive practices for stress and overwhelm
Young adults navigating anxiety, burnout, or big life changes
Women, gender-diverse folks, and underrepresented communities seeking a more inclusive way into wellness
Anyone curious about somatic and nervous system-aware practices—no experience needed
All you need is the willingness to try something different. To meet yourself where you are, without judgment.
Pay It Forward — Because Access Matters
The membership runs on a three-tier model:
Standard — for those able to invest in their wellbeing
Supported — for those needing financial flexibility
Pay It Forward — for those who want to sponsor someone else’s membership
Everyone’s circumstances are different — we trust you to choose what feels right. There’s a simple form to complete for the supported membership, but this is about care, not proof.
A New Chapter — Built Differently
This time, I’m doing things more slowly, more collaboratively, and more sustainably.
Big Love Movement, now a community-led business, is expanding — with a new Resource Hub, community contributors, live events, and a growing foundation for funding and partnerships.
But at its core, it will always remain the same:
A movement of everyday people reclaiming their wellbeing with clarity, compassion, and community.
Whether you’ve been with me since the start or you’re only just discovering this space, you’re so welcome here.
And if you’re curious about the membership — I’d love you to take a look.
