Three ways to feel good in body and mind, now!

Sadly, as much as Facebook and Instagram might have you believe differently you can’t simply think yourself into a positive state of being because your thoughts and emotions are deeply intertwined, like conjoined twins, and as they fuss and fight your body feels it all. So, if your body feels crap the chances are your mind isn’t feeling too hot either!

The secret to feeling good is truly feeling good, in body and mind.

There’s a common misunderstanding that tapping Emotional Freedom Technique is about tapping in positive affirmations to feel good, however, EFT was specifically designed to focus on your negative thoughts and limiting beliefs…

The process is like acupuncture without needles and helps release the intensity of the emotions attached to your thoughts and experiences as you consciously reframe, reset and rebalance physically and emotionally.

Positive affirmations are GREAT especially when used with breath and other somatic practices to help you feel grounded and connected to your intentions and focus on more uplifting thoughts however, negative thoughts did not simply appear from nowhere. Like your dreams and goals, they began life as a seed planted in your mind and they’ve taken root.

There comes a time when we need to do some weeding!

The good news is that feeling good doesn’t have to be as difficult as we like to make it.

To feel more positive we need to free up some space and clear out some of the crap ‘Negative Nancy’ is saying in our heads. Sure, we can keep tapping in our positive affirmations and thinking happy thoughts but all we are doing is helping to bury the limiting beliefs deeper.

I think of EFT as decluttering your mind ready for more upbeat, supportive, and empowering thoughts to flow in. So, when we say we want to feel good, what we actually mean is, we want to feel good about ourselves; feeling strong, healthy, vibrant, and calm but “on fire” all at the same time; we want to be focused and motivated to act on our intentions and achieve our goals.

We want it all and you deserve it all, but first, we must realise it’s all connected and it’s OK to start small.

Shifting your mood is about shifting your focus and changing something to have a positive calming effect on your experience. Here are three ways to help yourself feel good in body and mind. Choose ONE and start there. When you’re ready, and if you choose to, choose another and layer it on.

Shift your mood by shifting your mindset - Appreciating where you are right now.

  • What do you have and who do you have around you in your life? Express gratitude and deep appreciation for yourself and your life.

  • If you’ve hit a brick wall on a project or working towards a goal break it down and choose one small thing to take action on today.

  • Shift your perspective; take a step back and give things some space, maybe you could ask for a friend to listen while you have a rant; be open to seeing things from a different perspective.

Shift your mood by shifting your body - Emotions are energy in motion

  • Your negative thoughts can loop in your mind like a broken record.

  • Everything gets stuck from time to time so think about moving your body to help get things moving again.

  • Anger, frustration, and jealousy are low vibrating emotions and are di-stress energy. They can feel very ‘active’ in your body so can benefit from being released through movement.

Shift your mood by shifting your environment - “When a flower doesn’t bloom, you fix the environment in which it grows, not the flower” - Alexander Den Heijer

  • Think about the music you are listening to, and the people you are surrounded by, and change what you can.

  • The conversations you have and the opinions you ask for all influence how you feel.

  • Changing the space around you as you work or get ready to go to sleep can be hugely beneficial.

  • Think about your senses and what you are absorbing daily; scent, sound, people, places, spaces, the view you look at, or where you take your lunch break.

Begin by changing one or two small things and notice the lift in your mood!

What happened to you doesn’t need to define who you are but it’s hard to find perspective sometimes, trust me I know.

Everything I do through Big Love Movement has supported me on my journey and helping others understand and appreciate their emotions (past and present), and the impact they have on their well-being is my passion.

I’ve had some amazing breakthroughs in my mindset around self-belief, love, and money and I’ve witnessed the most incredible shifts for my clients too through EFT and Matrix-Re-imprinting. By sharing the Big Love practices and rituals I hope to support people as they move through their challenges so they feel fully resourced and empowered.

This is what I am here to do.

I have space for 3 people to work with me right now 1-2-1 and I offer a free 30-minute session for you to explore my techniques and get a feel for if this is right for you.

You are good enough, you are worthy and you are loved, supported, and appreciated.

Big love,
Becki
